2017 Gensan ICT Summit Ushers InnOvative Gensan 

The week-long Gensan ICT Summit with this year’s theme “InnOvative Gensan” formally opened on October 16, 2017 at the Trade Hall of SM City Gensan which was attended by local government officials and partner agencies.
LGU Gensan, through the ICT Council headed by the City Mayor Ronnel C. Rivera, is spearheading the event together with the public partners, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Information, Communication and Technology (DICT), TESDA and CHED, and private partners from local and national organizations which are working collaboratively to develop ICT industry in the city.
City Councilor Jose Edmar Yumang, Atty, Donna Ann T. Balboa, Executive Assistant III of the City Mayor, Mr. Jerry Durant, Chairman of Emeritus of International Institute for Outsourcing Management, Ms. Stephanie Rosalind P. Caragos, National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP) President, Mr Jan S. Ced, President of ISA Gensan, and Ms. Marjorie Cartojano led in unveiling the 2017 ICT Summit and cutting of ribbon during the opening ceremony.
The Gensan ICT Summit 2017 included four components: The Global Business Services (GBS) Conference, Gensan Inno-Talks, ICT Job Assist and Gensan ICT Skills Competition.
Meanwhile, the Global Business Services (GBS) Conference had already started its wave in a 3-day conference attended by more than 300 ICT entrepreneurs, professionals, freelancer, and industry experts.
The GBS Conference currently managed by LGU Gensan and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), consists of five (5) plenaries. Plenary 1 is on Business Enabling Environment for Startups and Big Players; Plenary 2 is on Enabling GBS; Plenary 3 is on GBS in the Hardware Sector; Plenary 4 is on GBS in the Software Sector and Plenary 5 is on GBS in the People Ware Sector.
